Inktober 8

One of the first illustrations I remember falling in love with was from my older brothers Monster Manual back in the 1970’s. It was a simple black and white ink drawing of a thief opening a chest. As I recall the contents of the chest were casting an upward light (like the case in Pulp Fiction) creating some fantastic contrast on the greedy face of the thief. This image is heavily inspired by that memory. A simple line drawing with a faded black layer over the top. The highlights are created using a soft and hard eraser on the overlay.
